This site is the product of a wish to share and grow a body of ideas, resources and strategies that prove useful on the journey of parenthood and create spaces for thinking, resolving and growing.
As noted it is not a substitute for professional psychological or medical advice. Nor is it a substitute for simple human empathy. This latter is sometimes in short supply and sometimes our busy lives see us starved of it for lack of time.
In the end parents, new and old, probably need understanding far more than they need advice.
Still I'm a lover of books (and blogs) and all kinds of writing, it's ability to capture experience in ways that leave one feeling less alone, it's ability to provoke you to think about things from slightly off field of where you started, so that you see them anew.
Many of the resources and references for this site, and the parent courses they grew out of, were chosen because the authors' empathy and understanding of the experience of parenting came though. In many cases they've combined this with solid research.
Still what works for one can persecute another. Take what makes sense for you and set the rest asside.
